‍ ‍About Me

I am a Scotland-based puppeteer, actor, theatre-maker, and visual artist with over 40 years of professional experience. My primary focus is handcrafted theatre for babies and children, though I also write and produce visual theatre for all ages, and will take on bespoke puppet commissions. Presently, I have an exciting visual theatre show, in development, called ‘Just a Song at Twilight’.

I write my own scripts, design and build every puppet, and perform the immersive shows that introduce young audiences to the magic of live theatre through story, song, and visual theatre-making. My work is artist-led, inclusive, and rooted in professional stagecraft.

Working with marionettes and rod puppets, I create story-worlds inspired by animals, nature, and our place within it. From a penguin returning lost objects to their owners, to Hamish the Hound discovering that being special is about friendship and belonging, each piece blends adventure, humour, and heart. Many of the characters return across different stories, creating a recognisable and growing repertoire.

Each performance is playful, poetic, and gently interactive, allowing children and adults to engage in their own way. The shows for babies and children range from 15 minutes to 55-minutes, and standalone productions for adults up to an hour.

I have an MA (Ed) in Inclusive Theatre from Middlesex University, am a qualified Early Years Practitioner (CCLD), I have a BA ( Hons) Expressive Arts degree ( Fine Art & Theatre Studies) from Brighton School of Art, and three years of professional classical acting training from Cygnet Training Theatre in Exeter. I am a member of the British Puppet Guild and an Associate Artist of Puppet Place in Bristol.

As a neurodivergent artist, I am particularly interested in non-verbal communication — movement, rhythm, repetition, sound, and visual language. I create calm, welcoming, imaginative spaces where children can watch, participate, or simply absorb the experience at their own pace. My theatre for adults is also immersive and contains all the same visual joy and storytelling as the work aimed at children.

Alongside performances, I offer interactive nursery rhyme singalong sessions, bespoke craft experiences, and workshops in puppetry and storytelling for children and adults, Children’s parties, and commissions.

I hold a current PVG and up-to-date Paediatric First Aid certification.
